Solar Power. Cover: Water Towers, Telephone Poles, Churches, Banks, Schools, with- SOLAR PANELS! A few pyramids of windmills here and there wouldn't hurt either. i'd rather pay for environmentally friendly electricity than the nasty shit they make these days.

HiglobalLovin: Are you talking about my comment "Wanna Bet?" Right, my mistake only in not putting name of person I'm responding to. If my comment would have appeared under or above person I'm responding to, it would make sense. Ahhh, but I'm too tired now to look for it, it happens. Must always remember to place name of person I'm replying to.

1) Here's the fastest way to satisfy America's thirst for energy (for free -- no ethanol or gasoline required: See the unveiling of the Tesla Elecric Car (optionally solar-powered). 0-60 in about 4 seconds with about a 250 mile range: w w w.youtube.c o m/watch?v=Vt1AdfgcNiQ Is it possible to have electric vehicles TODAY? Yes! Think: a very simple electric engine, no fuel emissions add-ons, no fuel emissions, quiet, virtually free fuel (solar), and powerful. What more could we ask for?

3) Hybrids add even more complexity to the engine -- which means even more maintenance, breakdowns and repairs. Electric engines are very reliable and very simple, with a minimum of complexity. The transmission in an electric car is usually one or two speeds plus reverse -- so it's also very simple (just swap the polarity on the engine to go into reverse. This is the overwhelmingly best alternative to any internal combustion engine (or hybrid-based engine) vehicle.

4) Who loses money? The energy companies, the corn farmers, the automobile service industry, the auto parts industry. Who saves money? Us. Who wins? The environment and owners of these vehicles. Additionally, with solar-powered electrics, you can actually sell power back to the power companies as well as power your vehicle. This is a big energy solution (besides hummers) that's already here and just needs to be exploited.
