SurferChicMami193 ::: Favorites 2007-12-26 12:41:43 I'm just glad that the strike is over! __________________________________________________
Loyal7 ::: Favorites 2007-11-26 23:40:35 Is there any reason why they are striking now? __________________________________________________
googaddict ::: Favorites 2007-11-25 22:44:49 Wishing you the best in getting a good contract. IATSE Local 500 Member South Florida __________________________________________________
letOzBagreedimwicked ::: Favorites 2007-11-22 15:50:37 This strike makes me so sad:( That's so depressing that The Little Mermaid is closed because they just opened! I would form an angry mob and tear the striker limb from limb too, but I'm stuck on the west coast. __________________________________________________
Swimboy8 ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 18:46:21 i will form an angry mob to tear those strikers limb from limb __________________________________________________
subwaysleuth ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 15:43:44 This is important for the public to know: we feel disconnected from the workers owing to this policy, which I understand the reasons for. I think the lack of sincere, lasting support for Local 1 is, in part, from the lack of information - and personal rapport. The media has generally ignored/soft pedalled this. When we see a crying child missing "Little Mermaid," we empathize. We don't know who is worried about her/his rent, or the show she/he works for. __________________________________________________
rubydartz ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 15:31:48 Hello Mr. Subway Yes, I am in I.A.T.S.E. Local 764/Wardrobe. We were indeed instructed not to speak to anyone with a video camera. __________________________________________________
subwaysleuth ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 15:06:16 Please watch rubydartz video on this subject. My film is here to give an idea of how many theaters are affected, while hers looks at actual picket-walkers...as they walk the line... It is excellent. __________________________________________________
subwaysleuth ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 14:48:50 Well, it's not far for me! I did not include every theater, esp. in both films, because I did not have a list of shows in front of me. My camera is now on the fritz, so we will rely on you! I would like to hear from the union members, and associates, but I think they are instructed to say little. (and most are not told much, for many reasons) __________________________________________________
subwaysleuth ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 14:45:30 My sister, in Jacksonville, Fla, told me that a production was cancelled owing to the strike - perhaps is was for another reason. __________________________________________________
rubydartz ::: Favorites 2007-11-19 21:58:23 Hey Mr Subway, Did you go to every single theater? Bravo! I sent you my video that is just Phantom. or go to RUBYDARTZ. You got some great shots in there. thanks, Ruby __________________________________________________
MurneyMenzel ::: Favorites 2007-11-18 14:14:33 Not yet. There's been some talk of the strike spreading to tours and sit--down productions outside of NYC, but it hasn't happened yet, and I doubt it will. __________________________________________________
SEAHAWKLOVER ::: Favorites 2007-11-17 21:07:15 i have a question and i know this is stupid but are the stagehands for all the national tours on strike as well? does anyone know the answer to this question? __________________________________________________
Bwaypal213 ::: Favorites 2007-11-17 17:48:35 So just because there are disappointed tourists, they should show up for work and not be paid fairly. If Actors Equity supports them, they must be doing something right. As sad as it is, disappointing people is the only way to get something accomplished. How else would the League of American Theatres and Producers want to get this thing settled? If tourists weren't missing out, the League would continue to walk all over them __________________________________________________
KJsworld13 ::: Favorites 2007-11-16 20:47:18 This made me cry. I'm a total theatre goer. All my faveorite shows were shown! I hope this ends soon! Don't these people realize they're ruining NYC's magic? When Wicked and Rent were shown....ugh....how horrible.... __________________________________________________ |
