[Before the start of this clip, Cain goes down the hill for a pee and can't climb back up] Just another Saturday chillin on the slacks, where I used to go when I was a kid. My son and my little bro's needed something to do, just like almost every other kid in L/H. The government don't seem to care about them. They just want them to get off the slacks, stay off, and have no fun unless they are willing to pay for it. Which is ironic considering the pressures and financial hardship the parents of L/H are facing everyday. There is always Peel Park I suppose. But some kids don't exactly call, "Sharing a swing with your neighbours for the rest of your childhood" fun! ---------------------------------------- Dear Prime Minister Gordon Brown, The lad you hear off camera at the end of video #3; when my little bro' asked him where he got his bike from, if you listen carefully you will hear him say it was nicked (stolen). The reason they steel them isn't so they can buy drugs; as many police and politicians would have you believe (that usually comes around age 18+). It is purely for Fun. They also commit crime to be able to afford to buy bikes too. Whether they purchase a legal or a stolen bike, they really don't care, as they know they will have the book thrown at them in court anyway, stolen or not. Drugs are actually fairly cheap and easy to acquire around here, and I should imagine they will continue to be, until our kids are offered an alternative. But the government, and most police, think that the reason kids steel is to fund a drug habit. But in most cases that is wrong. The real reason is Fun. If you work it out, most drugs and Fun cost around the same prices. Take Paint-Balling or Go-Carting for example. The problem is that Fun is harder to find than drugs in Little Hulton, which means; instead of putting all the money into the police and fighting crime, opening and filling more and more prisons, young offenders institutes and drug rehabilitation centers. Instead, put the money into providing Fun. Ask the kids what they want. Don't threaten them, wait for them to commit an offense after financially backing them into a corner, then give them a criminal record, lock them up and boast about how many more "criminals" you have locked up since you came to power on national TV. The police/prisons service wouldn't need all that cash if the kids had easier access to acquire Fun, than they have to acquire Drugs. The war on Drugs is failing because the war on Fun is prevailing. If you give kids a run down on the costs of building, maintaining and running prisons, young offenders institutes and drug rehabilitation centers on one side of a black-board. And then on the other side; a run down on the costs of building and maintaining Go-Carting and Paint-Ball centers, offering extremely low prices making no profit at all (like prisons), which do you think they would choose, a life of crime or a life of Fun? A life of Fun would be much cheaper than punishing them for not being able to cope with the pressure of seeing their parents struggling for money everyday, hiding from debt collectors or fighting a drug/alcohol addiction. A wise man once said, "Crime does not pay". To which, an even wiser kid replied, "If we didn't have crime, we wouldn't have anything". Your Faithfully, Mr J Shaw.

No worries mate, they will never listen, i used to live on spa crescent, and in truth, lets face it, a ounce is cheaper than even paintball, £15 to go, extra £20 on balls, more fun to sit at home and get wrecked, but nice one for saying it like it is.
