Description:

This line of argument is completely pointless in this debate. Both atheism and religion are used to justify immoral behavior. "Just where and what is justified, and by what?" leads us nowhere.

I can get round that in my illogicality philosophy that I am developing for myself. Where and what is justified just because I say it is. That works. I am loving it the more and more I think of it :D

If atheism and theism are biased (and they are), then should it not follow that an agnostic should mediate this whole thing?

No. The point isn't that the argument is justified by one extreme or another. The point is that the argument is made in a context where there is nothing to be had but self-gratification and reassurance.

No, there's nothing wrong with them in many, many contexts. But they destroy good arguments when they are rationalized into something else, something that just-so-happens to conveniently agree with whomever is rationalizing.

Naturalism isn't atheism, naturalism may have inspired atheism, and communism, but atheism didn't inspire communism, atheism has no dogma, naturalist might, but atheism has no dogma, dogma starts wars, the lack of a belief in god doesn't.

I've never said atheists don't start wars, that would be like saying people who don't believe in atrology don't kill, but neither of those things inspire them.

I'm not even saying it's impossible for an atheist to be inspired to kill based on dogma, communism has proven they can be, but they weren't inspired by the fact they were atheists, as opposed to the pope who might have been a bad guy, but was inspired by Christianity, the problem is dogmatic beliefs, atheism has no set of dogmatic beliefs that involves killing believers, or anything else other than a lack of belief in god.

My issue is that the Crusades were a JUST action to fight back against Arab aggression. Thank goodness the Pope finally tried to fight back.
