carvin1657 ::: Favorites 2007-11-06 17:13:39 Sorry about all the questions it just seems that you're one of the few compitent people on youtube that respond:) in ms word you can go view and chose 'print layout', can you do the same thing in pages? or are you stuck using the normal layout? __________________________________________________
waymassive ::: Favorites 2007-11-04 00:23:10 Pages seems like it would be a great program to use if you made documents from scratch and didnt need to transfer them to word after. But since the majority of the world uses Office, its hard to avoid the problems of iWork. Even the small problems in iWork just become frustrating if you are a frequent user of Office. __________________________________________________
waymassive ::: Favorites 2007-11-04 00:22:35 yeah im hangin out for the office 08. as for the spell check i dont think its as good as MS. Its just not as intuitive as MS. Im not sure about how good it is for other languages. All i know is that i have to keep adding words to the dictionary that use the american 'z' instead of australian 's', you know like 'globalisation' or something. __________________________________________________
carvin1657 ::: Favorites 2007-11-03 23:30:49 I'm not a big word processing junkie but it's assumed that pages has a decent spell check right? you can call that a dumb question i just don't like rocks to be left unturned before i buy something. Also, does it support a spell check for different languages? i'm canadian so a french spell check would be awesome. __________________________________________________
carvin1657 ::: Favorites 2007-11-03 16:35:52 wait until office 2008 comes out in january if you can. __________________________________________________
waymassive ::: Favorites 2007-10-24 20:22:28 Yeah, doc files open fine. I think the main problem is that Pages doesnt recognise all 'frames' in the document so it stuffs up the format of that file in Pages (and the file i tried at the time of this video had a lot of borders and frames etc). I was just really pissed off when i did this video so i forgot to mention that. __________________________________________________
inchfizz ::: Favorites 2007-10-23 17:56:05 as I was watching this, I tried opening a .doc document in my newly acquired pages app., and it opened it fine. dunno what you're doing wrong. __________________________________________________
finbinhot ::: Favorites 2007-10-19 09:18:19 Im surprised youve had that problem with pages. cant see what the problem is, just so long as the word document ends in .doc it should open perfectly in pages, looking indentical to how it looks in word. You should talk to apple care or something, its probably something really small thats causing you problems. Pages is really great for the importing of word documents. __________________________________________________
