Description: unfortunately this very very disturbing film from Susan hills best selling novel was only ever shown twice once on itv on Christmas eve 1989 and then repeated only once by channel 4 over Christmas 1994.according to the message board at the site of Susan hill the TV rights are now owned by someone else.as a result of this there will be no further TV broadcasts of the TV movie or further DVD releases. |

I realized it was a ghost story, and I love genre stuff, so I watched. I was more impressed with each ghostly encounter... then, this scene. I was 19 or 20 at the time, die-hard Fangoria/horror movie nut, and it caught me completely off guard. You couldn't have pushed a needle up my ass.
